Desert Elopement in Joshua Tree National Park
Similar to what I said in my recent Yosemite post, Joshua Tree National Park is somewhere I've wanted to visit for a long time. I couldn't have asked for a better way to experience it for the first time also! Jen and Devin ended up being the winners from an Instagram giveaway I was a part of a few months ago. They officially got married at a courthouse recently before this day but wanted to do bridal photos in one of their favorite places.
Jen grew up camping in Joshua Tree and even showed us photos from her childhood. Things like that, though simple, seem to add so much to the experience even for us photographers. We spent a few hours shooting bridals and a few family photos with their adorable little girl Phoenix. Jen and Devin absolutely killed at everything from the close intimate shots, to running down the highway, to cracking beers with so much swag. Not only that but they're a few of the nicest and most laid back people ever. There truly is nothing better than photographing beautiful people in beautiful places and I can't wait to return to Joshua Tree!

I believe this is where it all starts and is at the heart of everything, so let me tell you. I have a soft spot for sentimentality and I think love is awesome. I’m so grateful that I discovered photography early in life because I’ve been able to document my own journey in a creative fashion. For that reason, I have a strong passion for giving that same experience to others and take great pride in getting the responsibility of documenting their stories. Each picture has a story or feeling behind it and I love to capture that novelty. Arresting those moments in time allows us to remember and feel more intensely.
