Mt. Hood, Oregon Elopement

When Katryna and Ryan emailed me about their adventure wedding at Mt. Hood I was beyond excited! Oregon is one of my favorite places and Mt. Hood especially holds unique meaning to me. Pair an epic wild place with two adventurous spirits such as theirs and you know it’s going to be magic. And speaking of magic, before I go any further, if you haven’t yet seen Katryna & Ryan’s engagement session at La Push pause here and take a moment to scroll through that post. We had a memorable camping trip on the coast and they’re some of my favorite images I’ve taken.

Katryna & Ryan at La Push

Ok, back to Oregon. These guys live in Seattle now but met in college where they were both decorated collegiate runners. They had their closest loved ones make the journey out to the Pacific Northwest and their coach from college even officiated their ceremony. I love how much they made this day their own. They’ve really fallen in love with the Pacific Northwest and never cease to take advantage of an opportunity to adventure. A few examples: they did a trail run when they arrived a few days early, and the morning of the wedding Ryan and his groomsmen took the chairlift to the top of Mt. Hood to get a few laps snowboarding the groomer in. I’d call that an epic start to any wedding day.

I love following these two and everything they post inspires me to get out and live more. I did just that by doing an 8-mile trail run in a thunderstorm from my Airbnb to Trillium Lake, which was a fun trip down nostalgia’s lane. I had a special morning photographing sunrise there a few years ago and it was my first time back since. I need to add an extra thank you to Katryna & Ryan for getting me the most epic Airbnb cabin in Government Camp also! I enjoyed a few very peaceful nights of solace as enormous thunderstorms shook the mountain above us. Another very special part of this wedding weekend was that I got to work with two old friends. Sarah and Joy used to babysit me when I was a young child and now we’re all working in the wedding industry! Sarah is a talented florist and Joy was our day of coordinator. All in all, such an amazing weekend and I’m so thankful!

Hey, I’m Warren and this is my why behind everything I do!

I believe this is where it all starts and is at the heart of everything, so let me tell you. I have a soft spot for sentimentality and I think love is awesome. I’m so grateful that I discovered photography early in life because I’ve been able to document my own journey in a creative fashion. For that reason, I have a strong passion for giving that same experience to others and take great pride in getting the responsibility of documenting their stories. Each picture has a story or feeling behind it and I love to capture that novelty. Arresting those moments in time allows us to remember and feel more intensely. I know how much I value that and enjoy passing that along to others through photography. I would love to be a part of telling your story.
