The Best Oregon Elopement Locations

One of the most wonderful aspects of the Pacific Northwest is its diversity and if you need convincing on why to have an Oregon adventure elopement, look no further because this amazing state is arguably one of the best examples of scenic diversity. There are so many forms of geography and many locations share multiple types of scenery which allow you more to experience during your elopement. Similar to neighboring Washington (See Washington’s best elopement locations), Oregon is made up of hundreds of miles of coastline, mountains, deserts, and more. But despite having similar types of ecosystems, Oregon and Washington’s scenery are drastically different. With that diversity they are uniquely their own, so let’s take a look at some of the best Oregon elopement locations.

The Oregon Coast

The Oregon Coast is famous throughout all the world and holds that reputation with good reason. The ocean is married to the land by these enormous beaches which stretch out for miles and consist of smooth sand where the tide reaches and soft fluffy sand beyond. Tremendous rock formations like Haystack Rock tower out of the sea, living up to their iconic imagery. In many places like Cannon Beach or Cape Kiwanda, you will find rocky or grassy cliff bluffs that overlook the ocean and give you a beautiful view down the length of the residing beaches. Speaking even further on areas with diverse scenery, the Oregon coast is a great example because often just a few hundred yards inland from the beaches are dense lush forests. In the most southern regions of Oregon, you can even find groves of redwood trees only a short drive away from breathtaking beaches.

The Columbia River Gorge

This region of Northwestern and Central Oregon has so much to offer. There are dozens of waterfall hikes, mountains, and ridges to explore. This region is close to Portland and easily accessible within a few hours drive. The further east you drive the more you transition from green forests to high terrain desert which are both beautiful in their own way.

Central Oregon

I grew up visiting Bend, Oregon every year and, even as I continue to do so in my adult years, I can promise that it never loses its romance. The dry pine forests, desert rocks, and high altitude mountains are just as marvelous in winter as they are in the warmer months. If you’re an outdoor enthusiast this area is a paradise with how easily you can access different recreational opportunities like hiking, kayaking, rock climbing, paddle boarding, skiing, and snowshoeing just being a few among many. Great establishments in Bend and Sunriver round out this area as great place if you’re looking for nature and comfort during your adventure elopement.

Eastern Oregon

The far reaching corners of Oregon consist of secluded and beautiful places to elope. The geography is utterly unique in that while there are still mountains and deserts, they are different from any others found in Oregon.

Warren at Semiahmoo Bay Fujifilm Polaroid-1.jpg

Hey, I’m Warren and this is my why behind everything I do!

I believe this is where it all starts and is at the heart of everything, so let me tell you. I have a soft spot for sentimentality and I think love is awesome. I’m so grateful that I discovered photography early in life because I’ve been able to document my own journey in a creative fashion. For that reason, I have a strong passion for giving that same experience to others and take great pride in getting the responsibility of documenting their stories. Each picture has a story or feeling behind it and I love to capture that novelty. Arresting those moments in time allows us to remember and feel more intensely. I know how much I value that and enjoy passing that along to others through photography. I would love to be a part of telling your story.
