Summer in Seattle Couples Session

2020 has been an insane year. With the emerging and continuing effects of COVID-19 it has been a much quieter year for engagement and elopement photographers than anticipated. Now that we’re able to photograph again here in Washington, I was so excited to link up with Krista and Jonnie for a summer evening session in Seattle. Nature is a huge defining element of my photography and I normally don’t shoot in the city, but we found an awesome bit of nature in Discovery Park with some really beautiful views of the Puget Sound and had an amazing session as the sun set over the Olympics.

I'll be real with you guys about a few things here. This was the first session I've done since before COVID hit. That's by far the longest I've gone without photographing couples and I was a bit nervous I'll admit. It took me a minute to find my flow again, but these guys seriously could not have made it easier for me to feel relaxed and creative. I had the pleasure of working with Krista on a marketing campaign last year with Rachel Brooks Jewelry. She is an insanely talented model signed with Seattle Models Guild and has worked on some big projects with companies such as Nike. But more importantly, her and Jonnie are just awesome people to be around.

Despite not doing any sessions for so long, I feel that in some ways I’ve actually improved as a photographer. I used a lot of the down time to truly study my craft and learn how I can improve in my photography. During this session I tried to implement some of these new learnings and it’s inspiring to always have a growth mindset. It felt so amazing to photograph a couple again. Getting back out there and creating reminded me how much this work, these relationships, and experiences give to me and how it's absolutely worth every challenging time.

Hey, I’m Warren and this is my why behind everything I do!

I believe this is where it all starts and is at the heart of everything, so let me tell you. I have a soft spot for sentimentality and I think love is awesome. I’m so grateful that I discovered photography early in life because I’ve been able to document my own journey in a creative fashion. For that reason, I have a strong passion for giving that same experience to others and take great pride in getting the responsibility of documenting their stories. Each picture has a story or feeling behind it and I love to capture that novelty. Arresting those moments in time allows us to remember and feel more intensely. I know how much I value that and enjoy passing that along to others through photography. I would love to be a part of telling your story.
